Junior Volunteer Program
The William W. Backus Hospital Junior Volunteer Program gives high school students the opportunity to explore careers firsthand, as well as provide service to the hospital and our patients.

January 3, 2012 is the date the Volunteer Services Office will begin accepting applications for our Summer Program. Acceptance is very competitive and we offer interviews to the first 100 applicants only for a very limited number of openings. Each applicant will be contacted for an interview.

Adults (Ages 19 and Over)
• You may contact the Volunteer Office at (860) 823-6320 with a request for an application and one will be mailed (or faxed) to you,
• You may stop by the Volunteer Office and pick up an application,
• Or you may download an application from the link on the right.
When your application has been completed and returned to the Volunteer Office we will call you to arrange an interview at a time this is convenient with both you and the Director.
• All applicants must be interviewed by the Director, provide references, be cleared through the Employee Health Department, and attend a Volunteer Orientation.
• Volunteers also are mandated to complete an annual in-service program and an annual health screen.
