Plainfield Backus Health Center open for business
Jessica Plasse, APRN, has joined the staff of the new Plainfield Backus Health Center and is taking appointments for primary care at the facility at 120-122 Plainfield Road.
The health center, which opened Feb. 9, adjoins the Backus drawing lab that has been operating at the location for the past year and a half, making it a full-service healthcare location and the northern-most outpost to bear the Backus name.
“We’re right in the middle between Putnam, Norwich and Willimantic,” Linda Bergeron, LPN, said, “and many people want Backus-affiliated care.”
The Plainfield site offers primary care with or without an appointment and other basic procedures. Ms. Plasse, Ms. Bergeron and Medical Receptionist Heather Guertin will be based at the clinic full time.
“It gives people a choice,” Ms. Bergeron, a lifelong Plainfield resident, said. “There’s an older generation of people here that don’t want to travel all the way to Norwich if they don’t have to. Having those services closer to home is very much appreciated.”
Added Ms. Guertin: “There were a lot of phone calls to return, because people have been anxiously awaiting this.”
The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is currently comprised of a reception area, three exam rooms and an office for Plasse. To learn more or to make an appointment, please call 860-564-2198.
