Patients thank Backus staff during National Hospital Week

National Hospital Week 2009, celebrated May 10-16, is a time to give thanks and express appreciation for all that healthcare workers do to improve the health of their communities.
This year's national theme, "A Healthy Commitment in Changing Times," is also appropriate here at Backus Hospital. Our staff shows its commitment every day, from Environmental Services to the Critical Care Unit.
And while National Hospital Week is a time to pause and thank them for their efforts, Backus receives grateful words from patients almost every day. Included in this issue of Healthy Connections are just a few of those thank you's, and photos of our compassionate, caring and dedicated staff.
"I would like to say thank you to all of the staff at Backus for all the help they have given me and my family during our difficult time. Without all of you I don't know where we would be, or what we would have. We are unbelievably thankful to have so many people care so much about us. You are all in our thoughts and prayers."
"Backus Hospital was by far the best hospital I've stayed in . . . I will be passing the word around to all my friends and family who need hospital care, both in and outpatient, to go to Backus where the staff really cares!"
"I want to share my deep appreciation for the care I received at Backus. So many people contributed to my care and recovery and helped me through a difficult time. My family and I are most grateful . . . I'm in a much better place because of people who truly care."
"I must say that everyone involved with my care, from housekeeping, transportation, Patient Care Technicians, RNs, dietary and more, were truly caring human beings, which made a difficult time in my life so much easier."
