“Woman to Woman” health series begins in September
Backus Hospital will present “Woman to Woman,” a series of community education programs, beginning Sept. 13. This series of 10 monthly discussions by female medical professionals at Backus will focus on health issues of interest to women.
Topics to be discussed in the series include sleep apnea, osteoporosis, depression, asthma and holistic care and wellness. Each program will include a lecture as well as time for questions.
The Sept. 13 community education event will be “All About Osteoporosis, the Bone Bandit,” presented by Socorro Vargas, MD, an endocrinologist on the Backus Hospital Medical Staff.
Programs are free but registration is requested by calling (860) 823-6313. The “Woman to Woman” programs will be held on the second Thursday of every month from 6:30-8 p.m. in the entry level conference rooms at Backus Hospital. The series will run from Sept.-June. Both men and women are encouraged to attend.
