Eat well, live longer

NORWICH – The nationally known Food For Life program, a hands-on cooking class taught in the Backus Outpatient Care Center’s Community Kitchen, will begin May 3.

The four-week series on healthy eating for cancer patients, or for people hoping to avoid the disease, incorporates the latest information on cancer-fighting foods. The program is not just for cancer patients, but anyone who wants to learn more healthy cooking habits.

The free classes will be held Thursdays, May 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 5:30 p.m. at The William W. Backus Hospital’s outpatient care center at 111 Salem Turnpike, Norwich.

Registration is required and seating is limited. Participants must register for all four classes in the series. Call Renee Frechette, Backus dietitian, at 892-6994, to register. Class is limited to 30 participants.
