New physician joins Colchester health center

Stephen Kaye, MD, is bringing his patient-centered viewpoint to the Colchester Backus Health Center, where he will begin seeing patients Jan. 3.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Backus family and the Colchester community,” said Dr. Kaye.  “I am also looking forward to meeting my new colleagues and patients. I bring with me my philosophy that every patient I see is the most important person in the world. This has served me well in the past, and I trust it will in the future.”

Dr. Kaye has more than 30 years of practice experience with specialties in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology.  He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.  He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut.

“We are so fortunate to have a gem like Dr. Kaye joining our primary and urgent care team in Colchester,” said Susan Barrett, Director, Practice Management Operations for CONNCare and Backus Physician Services.  “His experience, leadership and compassion will greatly benefit the Colchester community. The team is looking forward to his arrival in early January and is excited to work with him as we grow our primary care practice at the Colchester Backus Health Center.”
