Lung cancer education event to be held March 10
The William W. Backus Hospital’s Cancer Services Department will focus on “Prevention and Treatment of Lung Cancer” during its next community education event on Wednesday, March 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the entry-level conference rooms.
The free program includes dessert, but registration is required by calling 860-823-6379.
Presenters include Dr. Setu Vora, Backus pulmonary specialist, who will talk about lung cancer prevention; Dr. Juan Escalon, a Backus thoracic surgeon, who will talk about surgical intervention and the statistics surrounding lung cancer; Dr. Brian Ross, who talk about the role of radiation therapy; Dr. Jie Yang, a Backus oncologist, who will discuss the role of chemotherapy; and the American Cancer Society’s Kathy Turner, who will talk about the various resources available in the community.
A question-and-answer session with the panelists will follow the presentation.
