Try strengthening back muscles to reduce pain
A new study suggests weight training can enhance quality of life for patients with back pain. Weightlifting enhanced quality of life for patients with nonspecific chronic lower back pain by as much as 28%, says a study done at the University of Alberta and presented at the American College of Sports Medicine. More frequent training led to better results. The research was done on 240 men and women who had had no back surgery, damaged vertebrae or nerve root problems.
Intensive diabetes treatment helps some patients

However, the same aggressive treatment does not appear to help as much in long-term type 2 diabetics and may be dangerous for them.
