Head and neck focus of Backus Cancer Services lecture

NORWICH - The next Cancer Services lecture at The William W. Backus Hospital will focus on "Head and Neck Cancer: What You Need to Know."
The free program, which includes hors d'oeuvres, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. in the entry level conference rooms. Registration is required by calling 823-6379.
Presenters include Dr. Gregory Lesnik, Otolaryngology, who will review risk factors, screening and prevention; Dr. Edward Yates, who will talk about the importance of pre- and post-dental hygiene; Chris Warren, Clinical Dietitian, who will cover the importance of nutrition; and surgeon Dr. Mark Tramontozzi who will talk about hyperbaric treatment. Treatment options in surgery will be reviewed by Dr. Lesnik; Dr. Renuka Dulala will offer information on chemotherapy; and Dr. Sheida Mani will cover radiation therapy.
