Hard Rock concert to benefit Backus Hospital

MASHANTUCKET ­­– The Hard Rock Café will donate all proceeds from its MINK concert Thursday, April 3, at 9 p.m., to the Breast Health Initiative at The William W. Backus Hospital. MINK is a New York City-based alternative rock band. The opening act will be Article A. Kevin Hogan, New London Bureau Chief and anchor from WFSB Channel 3 news, will host the event. Tickets are available through Foxwoods Resort Casino or at the door for $5. Raffle tickets are available for an autographed Gibson guitar.Backus Hospital is making a $3-million investment in breast health, which includes adding the latest in digital mammography technology, improving the early detection and treatment of cancer and adding a new program to help guide women with abnormal mammograms through the healthcare system.

The Backus Foundation is committed to raising $1 million to support the Backus Breast Health Initiative.
