Backus cancels visitor restrictions

Due to a sharp decrease in the number of flu patients seen at The William W. Backus Hospital, officials canceled visitor restrictions that had been in place to control the spread of seasonal and H1N1 flu viruses.
The number of patients seen in the Emergency Department with flu-like symptoms between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1 was nine. There were 124 patients in the ER over a five-day period in early November.
