Backus to host free event for breast cancer survivors
PrintNORWICH – The William W. Backus Hospital will host “The Power Within,” a free seminar for breast cancer survivors, on Saturday, April 5, at the Norwich Ramada. Lunch will be included.
Noted inspirational speaker, author and teacher Brian Like Seaward, Ph.D., will be the keynote speaker at the event, which will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Seaward will share the stories of several people who, in the face of stress, beat the odds in their efforts to gain control of their lives and come through gracefully.
The talk, based on his books, “Stressed is Desserts Spelled Backward,” and “Stand Like Mountain, Flow Like Water,” will offer insight and inspiration as to deal effectively with stress.
The event will also include information on stress management, self-image and relaxation. It is funded by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Backus Foundation.
