Backus Hospital is offering a monthly support group on the second Tuesday of each month for cancer patients, survivors and their families. February's session will discuss sexuality on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 5-6 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby conference room #1 on 326 Washington Street. Light refreshments will be served.

Cancer survivors to take stage as models

The William W. Backus Hospital is selling tickets and seeking sponsors for its 2011 Survivors in Fashion show, to be held Oct. 20 from 7-9 p.m. at the Fox Theatre. Approximately 20 cancer survivors will take part in the fashion show, which in addition to being a fundraiser shows that there is hope after being diagnosed with breast cancer. This year's theme is "We are a Family."

Local salon to benefit Backus cancer patients

Antenna Salon will host “Cutting for a Cause” on Sunday, April 10, from 12-4 p.m. The “cut-a-thon” will benefit the Backus Hospital Breast Cancer Survivors Fund and the Breast Health Patient Navigator program.
