Backus offers tours of Birthing Center
PrintNORWICH – Jann Christiansen, RN, Clinical Director of the Dr. Frederick S. Eadie Birthing Center at Backus Hospital, and the Birthing Center staff, have invited expectant parents and persons throughout the community to tour the newly redecorated center, Friday, Nov. 7 from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Center supports the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum) concept in maternity service whereby the mother remains in the same room during all aspects of the birthing process.
Following the tours, an informational, educational program will be given in room B-232 by a physician, maternity nurse, nutritionist and breast-feeding consultant. Questions from participants will be answered by these professionals.
There is no fee for the program, and refreshments will be provided during the evening event.
In the future, similar programs for expectant parents will be held in the Birthing Center at Backus Hospital in the spring and fall.
