Dr. Kathleen Wessling, left, of the Colchester Backus Health Center, conducts a cholesterol screening test on John Hoban of Colchester during last year’s Colchester 57 Fest.

Colchester will host the sixth year of its 57 Fest on Sept. 25, celebrating health and wellness in the community through a partnership with

Backus Hospital. “It is a fall family festival, with the purpose to bring families together and introduce and reinforce healthy activities and good nutrition,” said Jay Cohen, Director of the Colchester Parks and Recreation Department. “This year we also are including environmental leadership and connecting with nature as part of our mission.”

He said Backus Hospital has been a great partner for the event for the past three years. This year will be no different, with a variety of health and wellness screenings and nutritional information.
