Backus neurologist to host book signing
PrintNORWICH – Dr. Anthony Alessi, a neurologist and Medical Director of The William W. Backus Hospital Stroke Center, will host a book signing on Friday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Backus Gift Shop and from 1-2 p.m. at Otis Library.
Dr. Alessi recently published his second book, “Lift Up Your Hearts: Healing Haiti, Land of Hardship,” which benefits St. Paul’s Benevolent Institute.
The book is based on Dr. Alessi’s many trips to Haiti, including several following the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake.
Passages in the book include health professionals and their helpers who, inspired by goodness, reached into the rubble and misery in Haiti to heal and bring comfort to the victims of this great tragedy.
The book is available in the Backus Gift Shop.
Dr. Alessi is also the author of the book “Healthy Sports,” a collection of newspaper columns that focus on sports medicine.
