Backus Hospital offers cancer support group

NORWICH – Backus Hospital is offering a
monthly support group on the second Tuesday of each month for cancer patients,
survivors and their families. January’s session will discuss setting goals or
resolutions on Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 5-6 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby
conference room #1 on 326 Washington Street.
Light refreshments will be served.
Elynor Carey, a social worker in the Backus Care Management Department, facilitates the group.

The cancer support group focuses on the psychological and social issues people face when diagnosed with cancer.
The program will focus on a different topic each month with a short presentation and interactive discussion or activities. There will also be time for general questions.
