Backus health centers offer flu shots

The William W. Backus Hospital’s health centers in Colchester, Montville and Plainfield
are offering flu shots to the public.
Call ahead of time to ensure that there is adequate supply. The Colchester number is 537-4601, Plainfield is 564-2198 and Montville is 848-1298.
Backus health center physicians are urging people to get their seasonal flu shots now so that they will be prepared in time for the holiday season, when flu typically begins to spread. Tips to avoid the flu include:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Wash your hands often
- Get flu shots.
