Backus Cancer Services to hold colorectal cancer program

NORWICH - The next William W. Backus Hospital Cancer Services Department dinner will focus on colorectal cancer, which 150,000 people are diagnosed with each year -- the third most common cancer in men and women.

The free program, which includes dinner, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the entry level conference rooms. Registration is required by calling 889-8331, ext. 2398.

Presenters will focus on early detection and the latest treatments. They include surgeon Dr. Mark Tramontozzi, gastroenterologist Dr. Abera Abay, colorectal surgeon Dr. Sergio Casillas, Backus Cancer Services Medical Director Dr. Dinesh Kapur and Kathy Turner, Executive Director of American Cancer Society.

A questions and answer session with the panelists will follow the presentation.
