Backus and Connecticut Sun partner for breast health awareness

NORWICH - The William W. Backus Hospital and the Connecticut Sun are encouraging all fans to "Pack the Place Pink" on Sunday, Aug. 9, when the Sun take on the Washington Mystics.
Ginny Mabesoone, RN, Clinical Director of the A-2 oncology unit, IV Therapy and the Ambulatory Care Unit, will be recognized during halftime as the community MPV. She is being honored as a breast cancer survivor and for her contributions as a healthcare provider in fighting cancer in eastern Connecticut.
Eleven breast cancer survivors will also participate in the pre-game ball exchange with Connecticut Sun players at center court.
Information about breast health programs at Backus Hospital and other health information will be available through in-game features and along the Mohegan Sun Arena concourse throughout the game.
All fans in attendance at the game will receive a pink ribbon to promote breast health awareness.
