Backus mobile health center reaches out to community

The William W. Backus Hospital Mobile Health Resource Center will offer community health outreach services at the following dates and locations:

  • Sept. 8 - Nurses from Uncas Health District will provide blood pressure screenings and stroke awareness at Starrwood Market in Taftville, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 9 - Nurses from United Community and Family Services will offer health information at Stop & Shop in Uncasville from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 12 - Backus staff will offer free osteoporosis screenings at the Colchester '57 Fest, held at the Colchester Recreation Department, from 4 - 8 p.m. 
  • Sept. 14 - Nurses from Generations will offer primary care at St. Vincent De Paul in Norwich from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. 
  • Sept. 18 - Nurses from Uncas Health District will offer blood pressure and health screenings at the Bozrah Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m.
  • Sept. 21 - Nurses from Generations will offer primary care at St. Vincent De Paul in Norwich from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 22 - Nurses from Uncas Health District will offer blood pressure screening and stroke awareness at the Sprague Senior Center/Library from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 28 - Nurses from Generations will offer primary care at St. Vincent de Paul in Norwich from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
