Backus Hospital is proud to team with Governor Rell to bring awareness to colon cancer.
More than 1,500 people in Connecticut will be diagnosed with colon cancer this year. If detected early, colon cancer is 95% curable. A simple exam can identify the disease in its early, treatable stage, making colon cancer one of the most preventable forms of cancer.
Connecticut residents are challenged to take a ten-question, multiple choice quiz.
The quiz, found at coloncancerquiz.org, is designed to educate people about the importance of having a 30-60 minute colonoscopy exam, starting at the age of 50 years old.
By taking the test by April 15, 100 participants, randomly chosen from all completed entries, will be eligible to win a $50 Stop and Shop gift card.
