NORWICH – Pharmacists from The William W. Backus Hospital will review peoples’ medications at a “Brown Bag Medication Program” scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The event, designed to help people identify potential medication interaction issues and help them maximize the benefits they receive from their medications, will be held from 7:30-11:30 a.m. in Backus Hospital’s entry level conference rooms.
The program is free but registration is required by calling 823-6374.
Medication interactions are a common problem nationwide, especially for seniors. It is estimated that 1 in 4 hospitalizations of senior citizens are related to medication issues. Anyone who is taking multiple drugs is encouraged to sign up for the Backus program.
